Here at Wheelbite, we try and support charities and foundations that use skateboarding as a tool to remedy problems.
A.Skate is a foundation dedicated to helping children with autism. You can read an interview we ran with one of it’s founders Crys Worley here.
Heart Child The Movie is the story of Crys Worley, and her creation of the A.Skate foundation, inspired by her own 9 year autistic child, Sasha.
Please take a minute to vote for Heart Child at indiewire.com here or make a donation here.
When skaters visit London and want to skate a bit of good old concrete tranny, they usually end up at Stockwell or Meanwhile. Those with a a more fine tuned radar will pick up a subtle gem not far from the Oval cricket pitch named Kennington Bowl. A rectangular shaped playpen, this skateboard relic has seen many a carve and slash by locals and visitors alike. Unfortunately the local council wants to raise the earth it stands upon and close the chapter on this bit of UK history. Luckily Converse and a handful of goodwilled skaters are ready to fight to save their hallowed ground and are holding a skate jam on Saturday 26th May in order to fill the cracks and restoke the fire. If you’re in town, get down and have some fun.
The latest Magenta rider Koichiro Uehara has very fast feet as he cruises through downtown Tokyo. He can thank Paradise Wheels for providing the sweet urethane that send him on his way.
